Bio
Judge Markenson grew up in Highland Park, New Jersey.
He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he obtained his degree in Philosophy. He attended the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law where he obtained his law degree.
He worked for the Colorado Public Defender’s Office from 2011 to 2019 until his appointment to the bench in July 2019. He practiced criminal law.
Judge Markenson and his wife have two children. He enjoys camping and skiing with his family.
