Bio

Judge C. Michelle Brinegar was appointed as a District Judge in the 8th Judicial District by Governor Hickenlooper in December 2013.

She received a B.S. in Computer Science from Colorado State University in 1988, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver College of Law in 1991. She served in the District Attorney’s Office in the 8th Judicial District from 1991 until her appointment to the bench, primarily focusing in the areas of juvenile law, sex assaults, and crimes against children.

Judge Brinegar also is a member of the State Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Council, and the Colorado State Juvenile Task Force.
