Jeffrey M. Schwartz was appointed as a District Court Magistrate in January 2023.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, Magistrate Schwartz worked as a deputy state public defender in Colorado Springs. In 2009 he moved to Fort Collins and co-founded the Law Office of Schwartz and Waible, LLC (later, Schwartz, Waible, and Esser, LLC) where his practice focused primarily on criminal defense and juvenile defense.
Magistrate Schwartz received his bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Adams State College in 1999, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2003. He was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2003 and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado in 2011.
