Judge Beckenhauer was appointed County Court Judge on August 31, 2018. His caseload includes initial felony filings, misdemeanor and traffic cases, small claims, evictions and restraining orders in Nucla and Montrose.
He received undergraduate degrees in Elementary Education and Social Studies from Wheaton College and worked as a teacher until attending law school. In 2008 he received a juris doctorate from Washington and Lee University School of Law. Prior to his appointment, Judge Beckenhauer had served as a Deputy District Attorney in the 7th Judicial District for nearly 10 years.
