Highlights
The Kit Carson County Courthouse will be closed, July 24, 2025. The Courts office will be available by telephone only until Noon, July 24, and then will close to allow staff to attend County Events Day at the Kit Carson County Fair. The Courthouse will also close at Noon, July 25, however our office will be available by telephone.
The Self Represented Litigant Coordinator is available to help anyone who is not represented by an attorney with general questions, paperwork, resources, and forms related to their case (within legal limitations) on NON-criminal matters. Fraud Alert: The Courts do not contact parties by phone to demand payment for missed jury service. If you receive a call demanding payment, please report the incident to your local law enforcement agency.

Court Appearances Information
- Protective Proceedings Monitor (guardianship/conservatorship): Meredith Sparks 970-526-3958
- County Court Traffic and Misdemeanor case types are held on the 1st, and 3rd Tuesdays at 9:00 A.M.
- County Court Civil Cases are heard the Second Tuesday at 1:30 P.M.
- You may check the docket by clicking on dockets at the bottom of the page. Kit Carson County appearances are in-person, unless you have permission to appear virtually. If allowed to appear virtually, contact the Clerk's office to confirm which Courtroom you will need to appear in.
- Advisement/bond hearing for persons being held in the Kit Carson county jail will be held at 2:15 p.m. daily via Webex. For information on how to join a Webex hearing please click here.
