This position performs professional and technical work by providing training to employees on court business practices and programs.
Positions in this classification are distinguished from lower level positions due spending 50% or more time conducting training. Court Education Specialists do not have responsibility for policy development for the unit.
Coordinates with court managers, supervisors, and employees in the design and development of training curriculum and course material.
May participate on committees in charge of developing training courses.
Trains staff on the use of court business practices as well as new technology and software.
Participates in the development of training agendas and materials.
Coordinates training efforts with the Information Technology Services division, District Administrators, Chief Probation Officers and Clerks of Court.
Recommends the implementation of any new business practices required by the new software.
Demonstrates new software for court personnel professional and technical staff.
Attends meetings and training as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
No formal supervisory responsibility. Responsibility for one's own work product and work within a unit performing similar functions. Rarely provides lead function, advice, or explains work instructions to other employees or volunteers.
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university and two years of ICON/Eclipse experience. Education may be substituted with Court experience on a year for year basis.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; use hands and fingers to perform repetitive motions; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires 25-50% travel.
